Suspect Apprehended for Allegedly Assaulting Landlord's Young Daughter in Delta

A man named Ugbome Ifeanyi Thompson has been detained in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State on charges of allegedly assaulting the eight-year-old daughter of his landlord.

The incident was confirmed by human rights activist Comrade Israel Joe, who posted on Facebook on Sunday, February 15, 2026, noting that the child's father is suffering from a medical condition.

Mr. Joe claimed that the suspect had reportedly abused the minor multiple times and threatened her against disclosing the incidents to anyone else.

"His landlord is afflicted with a stroke-like illness, and this tenant, Ugbome Ifeanyi Thompson, allegedly assaulted the landlord's eight-year-old daughter, coercing her into silence with threats while abusing her almost daily. I am grateful to Uncle Nasco for bringing this to my attention," he stated.

"Fortunately, the suspect has been arrested and is currently held at the Orerokpe police station of the Nigeria Police Force."

“I have contacted the DPO, CSP Paul, and the suspect is to be transferred to the state CID of the Delta State Police Command for further inquiries and prosecution.
