A Chief Magistrate Court located in Ado-Ekiti has mandated the remand of Adewumi Similoluwa at the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Centre following allegations of murder.
During proceedings, the prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, alerted the court that the accused is reasonably suspected of being involved in conspiracy as well as murder, in violation of Sections 234 and 244 of the Ekiti State Criminal Laws, 2021.
The prosecutor indicated that additional investigation is necessary and mentioned that the initial case file had been submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal consultation.
He subsequently sought the approval for a motion ex parte for the remand of the suspect.
The defendant's plea was not entered as he was represented by his lawyer, Barrister Ademuwagun Stephen.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, ordered the accused to be retained at the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Centre and postponed the hearing of the case until April 10.
