Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has officially launched the Taraba Seed Production Limited, part of an initiative aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring food security in the region.
During the launch held in Lau, Kefas articulated the programme's goal to fortify food security within the state.
He emphasized that this new venture is designed to produce hybrid seedlings tailored for farmers, marking a significant advance toward reinforcing the national agricultural value chain. The initiative aims to guarantee that farmers have access to high-quality, certified, and climate-resilient seeds essential for their cultivation practices.
Kefas also highlighted that this project is an integral component of his administration’s persistent dedication to the socio-economic advancement of Taraba State.
Furthermore, he announced plans to construct a new road leading to Lau to facilitate economic development and improve accessibility to the area.
The governor encouraged local residents to engage actively in the project and work towards its sustainability to reap long-term benefits.
