The Katsina Hisbah Board has apprehended three men in the Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State on accusations of practicing witchcraft.
The arrests occurred at the Dandume market on February 8, 2026.
According to a statement from the board’s spokesperson in Dandume, Abdul Baki Mustapha Dandume, these arrests were made following reports from community members. They alleged that the defendants employed witchcraft-related methods to mislead individuals and unlawfully extract money from them.
The Hisbah Board noted that an investigation is currently underway to determine the details of the case and to decide on the necessary legal steps.
Furthermore, the board urged the community to refrain from engaging in witchcraft and other deceptive practices and encouraged residents to report any questionable activities to the appropriate authorities.
