Additionally, it was reported that numerous houses and grain storage facilities were set ablaze, prompting many residents to seek refuge in the nearby town of Nahuche.

A local resident, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed the community's ongoing fear, stating that threats of another attack had been issued by the perpetrators.

"As I speak now, we have yet to determine how many were taken, but it seems the majority of those kidnapped were women," he stated.

He urged both the Federal and Zamfara State governments to reinforce security efforts in the area, emphasizing the constant fear that grips residents.

The Zamfara State Police Command confirmed the occurrence of the attack through a statement from its spokesperson, DSP Yazid Abubakar.

In his account, he mentioned that the incident unfolded on March 28, 2026, around 10:30 PM when the armed men, equipped with AK-47 rifles, invaded Dangoro village from Nahuche District, shooting randomly and igniting fires in homes and silos.

"After receiving the alert, a combined force of Police personnel and local vigilantes promptly mobilized to the area. They engaged the attackers in a shootout, successfully driving them into the bush with possible gunshot wounds," he noted.

He further reported that three individuals were confirmed dead in the incident, including a member of the Community Protection Guard, while five others suffered gunshot wounds and four experienced serious burn injuries.

"All injured persons have been transported to the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau, where they are currently receiving treatment and showing positive signs of recovery," he elaborated.

DSP Yazid also revealed that the attackers caused substantial damage by burning numerous homes, food silos, and livestock, including goats.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, reassured the community of the command's commitment to tracking the attackers and restoring peace and order, while urging civilians to continue cooperating with law enforcement.
