President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his condolences to the traders and citizens of Kano State following the recent devastating fire outbreak at the Singer Market, which occurred over the weekend. He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to determine the cause of this unfortunate event.

Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, made this announcement.

Fire outbreak at Kano's Singer Market

On Saturday night, a fire broke out at a major supply store within the popular market, resulting in the destruction of goods valued at billions of naira.

The fire is reported to have originated from a large provision store and continued to blaze for several hours.

Onanuga relayed that President Tinubu had previously contacted Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to gather a situational brief on the fire, which he termed tragic.

The President expressed particular concern that this incident occurred less than two weeks after another fire had devastated numerous shops and properties in the same market.

Onanuga stated that President Tinubu has ordered a detailed inquiry into the recurring market fires, which frequently leave merchants in a state of despair.
