President Bola Tinubu has made a significant appointment by naming Ibrahim Ida as the new Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and has also nominated seven candidates for vacant positions at the National Population Commission (NPC).
Ibrahim Ida holds a Master's degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Ibadan, which he obtained in 1983, and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Abuja, earned in 2003. Prior to his 2017 Senate election, where he represented Katsina Central, he held prominent roles including Commissioner of Finance for Katsina State and Permanent Secretary within the Federal Civil Service.
The following candidates have been nominated as Federal Commissioners to represent their respective states in the National Population Commission:
1\. Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi – Ekiti State
2\. Nasiru Mu’azu – Zamfara State
3\. Usman Tuggar – Bauchi State
4\. Isaka Yahaya – Kwara State
5\. Sadiq Isah Radda – Katsina State
6\. Suleiman Umar – Jigawa State
7\. Chiso Dattijo – Sokoto State
These appointments aim to complement the existing Federal Commissioners who are already sworn in, and will require confirmation from the National Assembly to take effect.
Additionally, President Tinubu announced the appointment of Yusuf Mohammed from Kano State as the new Chairman for the Federal Polytechnic, Kaltungo.
Moreover, Bala Bello has been appointed as Special Adviser on Political Economy. Bello, originally from Kebbi State, possesses a Bachelor of Accounting and an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Before this position, he served as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and held the role of Executive Director for Corporate Services at the Nigerian Export- Import Bank from 2017 until 2022.
In conclusion, President Tinubu expressed confidence in the capabilities of these appointees, highlighting their potential to advance the administration's goals aimed at enhancing the quality of life for Nigerians.
