President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Nigerian Armed Forces to amp up their initiatives aimed at safeguarding civilians across the nation while simultaneously thwarting assaults on military establishments in the North- east.

He has further urged military personnel and relevant security organizations to take prompt action in rescuing individuals kidnapped by terrorists who are active in that region.

This directive came in a statement released on Friday by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Adviser on Information and Strategy.

President Bola Tinubu addressing the Armed Forces

Tinubu issued this command in response to the recent terrorist strike by Boko Haram members on the Ngoshe community within the Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

The President expressed his deepest sympathies to the families of those affected by the attack, which resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians and military personnel.

He also conveyed condolences to the families of individuals who were unintentionally harmed during the Nigerian Air Force's airstrikes against fleeing terrorists.

Tinubu characterized the assault as a brutal attack against unprotected citizens, emphasizing that acts of terrorism aimed at civilians will not undermine the government’s commitment to overcoming insurgency.

He encouraged Nigerians, especially those living in Borno State and other impacted areas, to resist being overcome by fear.

Moreover, the President praised the military for their rapid response to the attack, which he noted led to the elimination of numerous terrorists and compelled the surviving fighters to withdraw.

Tinubu offered prayers for the souls of those who perished during the incident and in the ensuing military operations.

He also extended his condolences to the victims' families and the Government and people of Borno State.
