Three members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Ogbadigbo Local Government Area in Benue State tragically lost their lives in a vehicle accident while en route to the party’s zonal congress taking place in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Sources indicate that the incident occurred on Wednesday along the Makurdi- Lafia expressway.
James Ornguga, the State Organising Secretary of the APC, verified the incident, sharing that several other party members were injured and are receiving care at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) in Makurdi.
Ornguga confirmed, “Yes, we lost three of our members from Ogbadigbo, while others were injured and are receiving treatment at BSU Teaching Hospital.”
In a reaction to the unfortunate event, the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro, expressed his sorrow. Through a statement released by his media aide, Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John, the senator described the accident as both traumatic and heartbreaking, commenting on the gravity of losing numerous individuals from a single local government area in one tragic event.
Moro offered his condolences to the Ogbadigbo community, especially to the families, friends, and political associates of the deceased, while also praying for the souls of those who passed away and wishing a swift recovery for the injured.
