A truck flipped over on Otedola Bridge during the early morning of Friday, January 23, further aggravating traffic along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The incident caused many drivers to look for other routes as traffic built up substantially.
The Lagos State Police Command's Rapid Response Squad confirmed the occurrence of the accident through a post on Facebook, stating that a secondary crash happened due to the overturned vehicle.
According to their post, 'Two serious accidents have taken place at Otedola Bridge, heading into Lagos.'
They elaborated, 'In the initial event, a fully loaded truck overturned, spilling its cargo onto the roadway and blocking approximately 90 percent of the carriageway. The subsequent accident occurred right behind the first, further hindering the flow of traffic in that area.'
'Emergency services have been notified. Motorists are urged to proceed with caution when navigating near this site.'
