Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has criticized the Super Bowl halftime performance led by reggaeton star Bad Bunny, branding it as 'absolutely terrible' in a post made on his social media platform, Truth Social, following the event on February 9, 2026.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, headlined the halftime show at Super Bowl LX held in Santa Clara, California, showcasing Spanish lyrics and reggaeton music.

In his post, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction, stating, 'The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.'

Prior to the event, Trump had voiced his objection to Bad Bunny being chosen as the headliner, calling the decision 'absolutely ridiculous.'

The 31-year-old artist has been critical of Trump's deportation policies and supported Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential race. His latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, earned the Album of the Year award at this year's Grammy Awards.

In response to the backlash surrounding Bad Bunny's performance, the conservative group Turning Point USA organized a competing event called the 'All American Halftime Show,' which featured Kid Rock and other entertainers. This alternative show was framed as a counter to the official halftime performance.

Turning Point USA was founded by Charlie Kirk, a known ally of Trump. The event gained traction on X, with several Trump supporters, including US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, promoting the concert, stating: 'The Hegseth family is watching.'

As the halftime show unfolded, the game had Seattle leading New England 9-0.
