In a telephone interview with CNN, US President Donald Trump stated that he is not worried about the emergence of a democratic Iran. His main concern, he said, is to ensure that whoever leads Iran respects the interests of the United States and its allies.

Trump remarked on how military actions have significantly undermined Iran’s leadership, asserting that the nation is not as strong as it had been previously. He suggested that a shift in Iran's leadership could happen soon.

He noted the possibility of the United States influencing Iran's future leaders, drawing analogies with how the US previously handled the situation in Venezuela, where it helped to replace President Nicolás Maduro with his deputy, Delcy Rodríguez.

The president emphasized that he would be open to a religious leader taking charge in Iran as long as that individual was fair and worked cooperatively with the US and its allies. Trump highlighted the importance of maintaining good diplomatic ties with Israel and other nations in the Middle East.

Moreover, Trump praised the success of US military operations against Iran, claiming that these actions have severely degraded Iran's naval capabilities.

Addressing concerns over increasing oil prices, he suggested that any hikes will likely be short-lived, reassuring that the market would stabilize soon.

In the interview, Trump predicted significant political changes in Cuba soon. He conveyed that the country is willing to engage in negotiations with the United States and mentioned that Secretary of State Marco Rubio could be pivotal in future discussions, particularly after resolving issues with Iran.

Trump reiterated that a primary focus for his administration post-conflict will be advancing the SAVE America Act—legislation designed to strengthen voting laws in the US, which includes requiring voter ID and proof of citizenship to register, as well as stricter regulations on mail-in voting.

He indicated that his support in the current Texas Senate race would depend on the candidates' backing of this legislation. The contest involves the incumbent Senator John Cornyn and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, both of whom have shown support for the proposed law.
