Members of the Edo State Police Command have taken into custody two suspects named Ibrahim Kodo, 25, and Orsee Iorzaa, 32, for their alleged involvement in kidnapping activities in the state.
The arrests were made in the Illushi community, located within the Esan South East Local Government Area, after the victims identified them as their captors.
Police spokesperson Eno Ikoedem reported that the apprehension was carried out in conjunction with the Nigerian Army, which aided in their tracking.
Ikoedem indicated that Ibrahim Kodo was recognized by a victim who identified him as one of three armed assailants who kidnapped him from his farm on June 2, 2025.
Furthermore, Orsee Iorzaa, who resides in Omi Camp, Illushi, was similarly identified by a victim as a member of a gang of five who unlawfully entered his home on February 21, 2026, and abducted him at gunpoint.
The police have stated that investigations are ongoing, with efforts focused on recovering the suspects' weapons and identifying other members of the organized crime group.
