United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, recognized as Africa’s Global Bank, has unveiled a new Aggregator Sales Structure aimed at enhancing its RedPay Point of Sale (POS) and Agency Banking Network. This initiative reflects UBA's dedication to fostering stronger partnerships within its network and, importantly, to bolstering financial inclusion efforts across Nigeria.
The multi-benefit structure providing extensive value for partners was introduced during the inaugural UBA Aggregator Engagement Session, conducted at the bank's Lagos headquarters on Tuesday.
Under the theme, “POS-itive Impact: Connecting Agents, Merchants, and Customers,” the session served as a collaborative platform focusing on the scalability of the UBAMONI Agency Banking ecosystem, uniting key industry aggregators, POS partners, and network managers.
Emmanuel Lamptey, UBA’s Executive Director Designate for Digital Banking, highlighted at the event the essential role that partnerships play in realizing national financial inclusion goals.
“Today's meeting signifies a critical advancement in our unified mission to democratize financial access in Nigeria. By uniting our trusted aggregators and partners, we are strengthening the framework that connects UBA directly with communities, ensuring that dependable financial services are accessible to all,” he stated.
UBA’s Head of Digital Banking, Shamsideen Fashola, who delivered the keynote address, emphasized the strategic importance of this new framework. “Our aggregators are pivotal in achieving our vision of establishing the most impactful digital collections network in Africa. This structured model is tailored to be scalable, transparent, and mutually beneficial, equipping our partners with the technology and support necessary to boost agent productivity and serve underserved communities effectively.”
The platform promises significant value to both agents and aggregators, featuring immediate settlements, trustworthy transaction processing, real-time dashboard reporting, and a robust suite of services, which includes dispute management, terminal services, analytics, card withdrawals, bill payments, and pay-with-transfer options.
Specifically for aggregators, this model presents a structured opportunity to onboard and supervise agents within UBA’s network, gain access to appealing incentives and commissions, and utilize a dedicated Aggregator Admin Portal for instant oversight of agent activities and transactions.
Adetunji Iyiola, UBA’s Head of Agency Banking, remarked on the customer- centric nature of the initiative, stressing that the newly established structure significantly strengthens collaboration among UBA, merchants, and agents.
“This rollout is designed to deliver superior value to every stakeholder, enhance service delivery to customers, and ensure that our partners are equipped with the tools and incentives needed to flourish. It emphasizes our commitment to providing essential banking services where they are most needed,” he articulated.
With the introduction of the aggregator model, UBA further solidifies its leadership in driving innovative digital financial solutions aimed at closing the inclusion gap and foster economic empowerment throughout Africa.
