The United States has officially confirmed the crash of three of its fighter jets in Kuwait.

According to the US Central Command, the incident was caused by what they described as an 'apparent friendly fire incident.'

"At 11:03 p.m. ET on March 1, three U.S. F-15E Strike Eagles, operating in support of Operation Epic Fury, went down over Kuwait due to an apparent friendly fire incident," the statement noted, adding that all pilots are safe.

Further details were provided by the US Central Command on their official website.

The command stated, "During active combat operations—featuring assaults from Iranian aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drones—the U.S. Air Force fighter jets were mistakenly engaged by Kuwaiti air defense systems."

"All six crew members safely ejected and were successfully recovered; they are in stable condition. We appreciate the response from the Kuwaiti defense forces and their assistance during this ongoing operation."

The investigation into the cause of this incident is currently underway, with additional information expected to be released in due course.

Earlier, reports indicated that Kuwait had mentioned that several U.S. fighter jets crashed on its territory. This incident marks a significant development in the conflict that the United States and Israel initiated against Iran over the weekend.

To date, U.S. and Israeli strikes have reportedly resulted in more than 550 casualties in Iran, which includes the killing of the nation’s leader, Ali Khomeini. In addition, the U.S. confirmed the fatalities of three American soldiers, while Israel has acknowledged at least ten deaths resulting from Iranian retaliation.
