Update: Woman Believed to Be Murdered by Her Spouse Laid to Rest in Kebbi

A woman, allegedly murdered by her husband in Bayawa, situated in the Augie Local Government Area of Kebbi State, has been laid to rest.

According to reports from LIB, Umaima Maidawa was reportedly killed by her husband, Sule Gurmu, on January 14, 2026, during a domestic dispute.

After medical examinations and investigations were completed, Hon. Yahaya Muhammad Augie, the Executive Chairman of Augie Local Government, conducted the Janā’iza (funeral prayer) for the deceased Umaima.

The funeral prayers were held in Bayawa and followed Islamic customs, with Hon. Yahaya Muhammad Augie in attendance alongside local councilors, members of his delegation, community leaders, religious figures, and local residents.
