Reports from multiple US media outlets indicate that the United States has commenced military operations targeting Iran. This action follows Israel's recent announcement of attacks on its longstanding rival in the region.
Citing information from American officials, the media highlighted that the US strikes are part of a collaborative effort with Israel, which previously stated it had acted against Iran while also restricting its airspace.
Additionally, the US embassy located in Qatar has instructed its personnel to take shelter in response to the escalating situation.
The Pentagon has yet to issue a public response to requests for comments regarding the strikes.
In a statement, US President Donald Trump characterized the coordinated attacks by the United States and Israel as a necessary measure to mitigate immediate threats posed by the Iranian government. He stated, "A short time ago, the United States military began major combat operations in Iran. Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime, a vicious group of very hard, terrible people. Its menacing activities directly endanger the United States, our troops, our bases overseas, and our allies throughout the world," via his Truth Social account.
