United States President Donald Trump has declared that Iran would face utter annihilation if any assassination attempts were made against him. This strong statement was prompted by inquiries regarding threats to his life, which have been broadcast on Iranian state television.

Trump conveyed this warning to NewNation's Katie Pavlich in response to her question about the assassination threats originating from Iran. The news outlet had previously shown clips from a July 13, 2024, rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt, with the accompanying commentary suggesting future attempts would not miss.

"Well, they shouldn't be doing it, but I've left notification," the President stated to Pavlich. "Anything ever happens, we're going to blow the - the whole country is going to get blown up."

President Trump also directed criticism towards his predecessor, Joe Biden, suggesting that Biden had not adopted a sufficiently firm stance against Iran's continued threats against him and other members of his administration.

The animosity between Iran and the Trump White House intensified following the January 2020 elimination of Qasem Soleimani, a high-ranking general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Notably, former National Security Advisor John Bolton, who has since become a critic of Trump, was also reported to be a target of an Iranian assassination plot.

"Biden should have said something. You know, when they made a statement, we always said, 'Why isn't Biden saying anything?' Because he didn't," Trump commented.

He further elaborated, "But a president has to defend a president like, if I were here and they were making that threat to somebody even, not even a president, but somebody, like they did with me, I would absolutely hit them so hard. But I have very firm instructions - anything happens, they're going to wipe them off the face of this earth."

Last week, it appeared that Trump was preparing to authorize a military strike against the Iranian regime, which has been implicated in the deaths of thousands of civilians protesting the current government.

On Sunday, an Iranian official reported to Reuters that the death toll from these protests had risen to at least 5,000 individuals.

Iranians have been engaged in widespread protests since the previous month, stemming from dissatisfaction with the nation's struggling economy.

On January 2, Trump had previously stated that the United States was "locked and loaded" and prepared to launch an attack on Iran should the killings persist.

However, by Wednesday, the President indicated a belief in the regime's claims that they had ceased their actions against civilians.

"We've been told that the killing in Iran is stopping, and it's stopped and stopping, and there's no plan for executions or an execution," Trump told reporters at the White House during a bill signing event. The event was related to legislation allowing whole milk in public school lunch programs.

The President added that he would be "very upset" if he discovered these claims to be untrue.

During a press conference on Tuesday, which marked his second anniversary in office, Trump was questioned about whether military options remained a possibility.

Trump responded by mentioning that "they were going to hang 837 people."

He continued, "We let them know if that happens, that will be a very bad day for them, and they decided not to do it. They didn't hang the people. I can't tell you what's going to happen in the future, but supposedly they're taking that off the table."

"So we're just gonna have to see what happens with Iran," Trump concluded.
