The Bayelsa State Vigilante Security Service has taken into custody two suspects, identified as Emmanuel Oweibena and Charles Francis, aged 21, who are believed to be part of a robbery ring utilizing tricycles in Yenagoa.
These arrests occurred on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Tombia–Etegwe Roundabout, following verified intelligence and ongoing observation.
According to reports, the duo operated in unison, with one individual driving a tricycle while the other targeted unaware passengers to pilfer their mobile phones, money, and other valuables.
Their apprehension was triggered by information from a victim who had been robbed on the Melford Okilo Expressway the previous year.
During questioning, the suspects admitted to participating in criminal activities for several years.
They have now been transferred to the Nigerian Police Force for additional investigation and legal proceedings.
Hon. Doubiye Alagba, the chairman of the vigilante service, highlighted the group's dedication to ensuring community safety and encouraged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious behavior.
