Woman, 26, Reportedly Murdered by Boyfriend in Ibadan (Video)

A 26-year-old woman named Precious Mogaji was reportedly murdered by her boyfriend in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The tragic event took place in the Oguntula area of Ojoo, Ibadan.

Olayinka Ayanlade, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday, March 9, 2026, noting that an investigation has been initiated to uncover the details surrounding her death.

According to Ayanlade, a good Samaritan had alerted the authorities after discovering the victim's body at the entrance of her boyfriend’s room.

The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Quadri Mohammed, is currently evading capture.

“The Oyo State Police command has initiated an investigation into the alleged murder of Precious Mogaji, aged 26,” read the official statement.

“Initial findings suggest that at around 12:05 AM, the police were informed by a good Samaritan who reported that the victim was lifeless at the entrance to her boyfriend’s room, Quadri Mohammed, who is 29 years old.

“Contrary to rumors circulating in certain media alleging that the incident took place in Akobo and involved a man trying to conceal his wife's corpse in a car, our preliminary findings indicate it actually occurred at the Oguntula area of Ojoo, Ibadan, not Akobo, as has been mistakenly reported.

“Thus, it is essential for the command to clarify the circumstances of the incident to ensure accurate information is disseminated.

“Responding quickly to the report, the Patrol Team and Incident Duty Officer from the Ojoo Division were dispatched to the scene.

“Upon arrival, they found the lifeless body of the victim positioned at the doorway of the suspect’s residence. A forensic examination was conducted, and all relevant findings were documented in accordance with established procedures.

“During the investigation, it became evident that the boyfriend, Quadri Mohammed, remains at large. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.

The police urged anyone with relevant information regarding the case to contact the nearest police station or the State Police Command.

Authorities assured the public that updates will follow and advised them to disregard misleading reports circulating on social media.
