Woman Related to ISWAP Terrorist Turns Herself In to Military in Borno

A woman associated with a suspected ISWAP member has surrendered to military forces in Borno State. She reportedly fled from Gwoza before approaching the troops for safety.

A woman linked to a suspected ISWAP terrorist has voluntarily surrendered to the Operation Hadin Kai troops stationed in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to intelligence sources who shared information with security expert Zagazola Makama, the woman turned herself in around 6:05 p.m. on February 26, 2026, to the personnel of the 24 Task Force Brigade assigned to the area.

Initial investigations indicate that she had escaped from Tokombere Village situated in Gwoza Local Government Area before seeking refuge with the military forces.

Currently, she is under the care of the troops for further assessment and appropriate formal procedures.

Sources mentioned that this incident is part of wider counter-insurgency efforts ongoing under Operation Desert Sanity, a specialized initiative by Operation Hadin Kai aimed at maintaining pressure on terrorist factions in the northeastern region of Nigeria.
