Aryna Sabalenka, the leading female tennis player globally, has shared her engagement with Brazilian businessman Georgios Frangulis.
The 27-year-old athlete from Belarus revealed the joyful update on her Instagram account just before her re-entry into competition at the Indian Wells tournament.
Sharing an image of her engagement ring, Sabalenka addressed her 4.7 million followers, saying: "All good guys, everything happened, but look how I look."
Frangulis, who is the CEO of the worldwide health-food company OakBerry, has been in a relationship with Sabalenka since 2024.
This engagement announcement follows hints from Sabalenka after her victory at the Brisbane International in January. After winning the final match, she had playfully expressed appreciation to her team, noting, "As always, last but not least, thank you, my team for handling me."
She added, "I'm really the toughest one to handle and you guys are the toughest people in the world if you can handle me. Thank you, guys, I love you. And thank you to my boyfriend. Hopefully, soon I'll call you somehow else, right?"
The crowd joined her laughter as the 2024 Australian Open champion added with a smile, "I just put on extra pressure, right?"
Sabalenka first publicly disclosed her relationship with Frangulis in May 2024, posting a photo of the couple after her match against Iga Swiatek at the Italian Open.
