The Police Command in Yobe State has announced the arrest of a 29-year-old individual suspected of engaging in motorcycle theft.
In a statement made accessible to news reporters on Thursday, February 12, by the command's Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, details regarding the incident were shared.
The PPRO revealed that on February 10, 2026, at approximately 5:45 PM, a male resident named Bukar Lawan of Sabon Fegi Ward, Damaturu, reported an incident at the police division. He had parked his ash and black Car-Go motorcycle in front of a friend's house while visiting at Nasarawa Ward, Damaturu.
Upon his return, he found that his motorcycle had been stolen by an unknown individual.
Following the report, police operatives promptly launched an investigation which culminated in the suspect's tracking and subsequent arrest on Thursday. During questioning, the suspect admitted to the crime, and the stolen motorcycle was recovered and documented as evidence, according to Abdulkarim.
The spokesperson assured that the recovered motorcycle would be returned to its legitimate owner, while investigations are ongoing as preparations for prosecution continue.
