Zamfara CPG Commander Who Previously Survived Bandit Attack Passes Away

Brigadier General Lawal Bature Mohammed, the former head of the Zamfara Community Protection Guards, has died. Known as Dan Gusau, he was injured in a bandit assault last year and had been receiving medical treatment in Egypt.

Brigadier General Lawal Bature Mohammed (rtd), the former leader of the Zamfara Community Protection Guards (CPG), has passed away.

Commonly referred to as Dan Gusau, the late Brigadier General was wounded in a gunfight with bandits during an attack last year.

He was subsequently flown to Egypt for medical care.

While he was recuperating, former Assistant Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Shehu Daligent (rtd), was appointed as the new commander.

Recently, Governor Dauda Lawal honored the families of fallen CPG heroes and committed to providing full support for them.

According to a statement by the governor's spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Governor Dauda Lawal decorated twenty Community Protection Guards (CPGs) who had distinguished themselves in their duties during that occasion.

The funeral prayer for the late CPG Commander took place in the Sabon Gari area of Gusau, the state's capital, on Thursday evening.

Following traditional ceremonies, he was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs.
