Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has strongly reaffirmed his administration's unwavering commitment to combatting insecurity across the state, pronouncing a policy of absolute zero tolerance for banditry and all forms of criminal activities.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mahmud Mohammad Dantawasa, it was highlighted that the pervasive insecurity continues to hinder daily life, impede economic progress, and foster an environment of fear among the populace. The statement emphasized that Governor Lawal remains steadfast and focused on addressing this challenge through well-planned strategies and continuous engagement with various stakeholders.

Dantawasa further stated that the foremost priority for the administration is the safeguarding of lives and properties, asserting that all necessary measures will be deployed to re-establish peace throughout Zamfara.

“The governor maintains a firm stance of zero tolerance against banditry. There will be no compromise with bandits as efforts intensify toward restoring lasting peace,” the statement declared.

Addressing the governor’s political alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Commissioner explained that this decision was primarily driven by the overarching interests of the people of Zamfara State. This strategic move aims to bolster cooperation with the federal government, thereby enhancing security operations and accelerating the state's developmental trajectory.

Furthermore, Dantawasa noted that this alignment is expected to foster deeper synergy with security agencies and other partners in the collective effort to tackle the prevailing security challenges.

He added that the state has already initiated enhanced collaboration with federal authorities, which has led to demonstrable progress in certain affected regions.

The statement quoted Governor Lawal directly, reiterating his pledge: “I am still on my word—there will be no compromise with bandits. My administration will continue to fight them with full determination until peace is restored.”

The state government has appealed to residents to actively support ongoing security initiatives by maintaining law-abiding conduct and furnishing credible intelligence to security agencies. Additionally, the public is encouraged to offer prayers for peace and stability within the state.
