Borno State's Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has reached out to 300,000 underprivileged households, comprising both Muslim and Christian families, through the provision of Ramadan palliatives.

During the launch of this initiative in Maiduguri, Zulum emphasized that the program is intended to support residents who are facing economic difficulties.

He remarked that the timing of Ramadan coincides with the Christian Lenten season this year, which ensures that Christian households also participate in the aid program.

Each household benefiting from this initiative will receive food items, including a bag of rice, a bag of millet, and 10 kilograms of sugar.

Zulum also mentioned that additional supplies of rice, millet, and sugar have been designated for the elderly across the state.

The governor called on members involved in the distribution process to uphold fairness and transparency.

“These goods are not for resale. They are designated for those truly in need, such as widows, orphans, displaced individuals, farmers trying to recover, and daily wage workers struggling to survive. Any personnel found misappropriating these items will face severe consequences,” he stated.
