Family and friends have expressed their sorrow on social media, sharing photographs of the young woman. Her mother posted an image of Fatemeh holding flowers on Instagram, stating, “My daughter is an angel.” In another heartfelt message, she lamented, “Oh pretty girl.”

A video compilation honoring her memory was also shared, with one caption reading: “Last night I wanted to hug you.” A vigil is planned for Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in front of the Wandsbek Markt subway station to honor Fatemeh.

Details have emerged that the suspect, who is from South Sudan, had a history of violent behavior and was previously known to German authorities. Reports indicate that he had been arrested just days prior for allegedly assaulting police officers.

He was reportedly handcuffed for aggravated assault but was released after the incident, despite ongoing investigations.

Authorities confirmed that there was no known relationship between Fatemeh and her assailant. They also revealed that the attacker entered Germany through a humanitarian program and held a valid residence permit while residing in container-style housing in Hamburg.

Witnesses noted that the suspect exhibited erratic behavior shortly before the tragic event. One bystander recounted hearing him say, “I’ll take you with me,” before he pulled Fatemeh onto the tracks.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Fatemeh was reportedly living in a women’s shelter in Norderstedt, having fled domestic violence situations.

The two bodies were later taken away in wooden coffins. Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are still ongoing.
