The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially announced the formation of its 50-member "Wise Men, Women Policy and Manifesto Committee." This decision received the endorsement of the party's National Working Committee (NWC).
Senator David Mark, the National Chairman of the ADC, sanctioned the committee's establishment, underscoring the party's dedication to crafting a policy framework for national governance that is credible, focuses on the populace, and is oriented towards the future.
In a communication released by the National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, it was stated that the Policy and Manifesto Committee comprises a notable selection of Nigerians from varied professional and personal backgrounds. The group includes former public officials, academics, seasoned technocrats, policy specialists, leaders from civil society organizations, and various professionals.
Collectively, these members bring a wealth of expertise covering governance, economic administration, social development, national security, and democratic reforms.
The committee will be led by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, a former governor of Edo State, who will serve as Chairman. Professor Pat Utomi has been appointed as the Deputy Chairman, with Salihu Lukman taking on the role of Secretary.
The party outlined the committee's mandate as articulating a policy direction that is clear, cohesive, and credible. This direction should genuinely reflect the aspirations of the Nigerian people and position the ADC as a viable and serious alternative for responsible leadership and national rejuvenation.
The official inauguration ceremony for the committee is scheduled to take place on Monday, February 2, 2026. The event will commence at 12 noon and will be held at the Conference Hall of the ADC National Secretariat, located in Abuja.
