The leadership of Ward 1 of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State has announced the indefinite suspension of member Mr. Paul Okparayovwe Oyiborume, pending the results of an internal inquiry.
This decision was made during an emergency executive committee meeting convened on March 22, 2026, which followed a petition submitted regarding the member's actions.
In a statement released after their meeting, the ward executives explained that their decision aligns with the party's established rules and procedures.
The statement detailed, "On this day, March 22, 2026, the executive committee of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Ward 1, Sapele Local Government, has received a troubling petition concerning our member, Mr. Paul Okparayovwe Oyiborume."
They noted that the suspension stems from the concerns raised in the petition and the conversations held thereafter by the committee members.
"After careful consideration, the executive committee has decided and resolved to suspend Mr. Paul Okparayovwe Oyiborume indefinitely from all party activities until the investigation into the allegations outlined in the petition is concluded," the statement continued.
Additionally, the statement highlighted various issues raised in the petition, including engagement in party activities, stances on internal arrangements, and the communication methods used to voice grievances.
The ward executives concluded their message by asserting that this resolution is binding for all members of the APC in Ward 1. They reaffirmed that the suspension will be effective until the investigation is complete.
The statement was endorsed by several officials, including Ward 1 Chairman Eriekefe Obosiewe; Councillor Don Bajere; Ward Secretary Ezealaji Ebuka; LGA Organizing Secretary Richard Ogirisen; PRO Adidi Christian; Assistant Treasurer Onome Solomon; Vice Chairman Osiobe Trust; and Efevwaire Erhuvwu, among others.
