Army Chief Calls for Unity and Dedication Among Troops

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has called upon officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army to maintain unity, discipline, and self-sacrifice in all areas of their service.

This appeal was made during a special Eid-el-Fitr luncheon for frontline troops stationed within the 8 Division Area of Responsibility in Katsina State.

During the event, Major General Godwin Mutkut, the Commander of the Infantry Corps and Centre, conveyed the COAS's message, highlighting that the commitment and self-discipline demonstrated during Ramadan align well with the principles of military service.

The COAS also paid homage to fallen heroes, praising the deployed troops for their fortitude and assuring them that efforts are underway to enhance their living conditions, professional growth, and support systems for both soldiers and their families.

Major General Paul Koughna, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division and Commander of Sector 2, Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA, described the luncheon as a timely initiative to uplift troop morale, expressing gratitude for the soldiers' sacrifices in the fight against criminal activities.

Dr. Muazu Nasiru Danmusa, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, representing Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, commended the military's commitment to restoring peace and assured ongoing governmental support in terms of welfare and logistics. He encouraged the troops to remain disciplined, courageous, and steadfast in their responsibilities.
