The troops involved in Operation HADIN KAI, in collaboration with local vigilante groups and hunters, successfully neutralised a senior commander of Boko Haram and apprehended a suspected drone and logistics supplier in separate missions in the Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

On Thursday, February 19, 2026, at approximately 5:30 PM, the military engaged suspected Boko Haram militants in an ambush near the Visik River. This encounter led to the neutralisation of one of the insurgents identified as Abdullahi Mafa, who held the position of a former hybrid commander in Madagali.
