Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of inflicting damage on the nation’s life, labeling it the "worst administration" he has experienced throughout his political career.
While addressing attendees at the launch of 'The Loyalist', a book authored by the National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, Atiku expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration among various politicians in forming the ADC.
The ADC leader conveyed his appreciation to those who contributed and supported the book launch, emphasizing their role in enriching national discourse.
He encouraged readers to view the book as not just a narrative but a source of inspiration for personal and collective responsibility. He stated, “Let it guide us in the execution of our public duties, fostering dialogue, scholarship, and actions that promote justice, dignity, and opportunity for every citizen in this country.”
Atiku highlighted the unique position of the ADC as a political entity, which serves as a meeting point for diverse political ideologies across Nigeria, united in a mission to restore national unity and rejuvenate democracy.
“If there is any silver lining in our recent political developments, it is the collective efforts to rescue our country from what I view as the most detrimental governance I've witnessed in nearly four decades of my political journey. The damage caused by this administration surpasses that of any military dictatorship before 1999,” he remarked.
He recalled his involvement in the establishment of the APC, expressing regret that the anticipated improvements for the country have not materialized. He called upon his fellow politicians to unite once more in the pursuit of a new political group tasked with rescuing Nigeria for its citizens' benefit.
