CAF Strips Senegal of AFCON Title, Morocco Declared Champions

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revoked Senegal's AFCON 2025 title, citing a forfeiture due to regulatory violations. As a result, Morocco has been declared the champions with a 3-0 victory.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially revoked the title won by Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025.

CAF's Appeal Board determined that Senegal forfeited the final match after leaving the pitch in violation of tournament regulations.

As per CAF’s announcement, Morocco has been awarded a victory with a scoreline of 3-0 and thus recognized as the champions of AFCON 2025.

“The CAF Appeal Board decided that in accordance with Article 84 of the Regulations of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations, the Senegal National Team is declared to have forfeited the Final Match of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, with the result being recorded as 3–0 in favor of the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football,” the statement read.
