Super Eagles captain and Besiktas midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is set for an unspecified duration away from the pitch due to an injury. The Turkish club has announced that the defensive midfielder is dealing with a hamstring issue.

It remains uncertain whether the former Leicester City player sustained the injury during the team's recent 1-0 defeat to Fenerbahce over the weekend or in a training session earlier this week.

Following MRI scans conducted at Altunizade Acıbadem Hospital in Istanbul, Besiktas reported that Ndidi is experiencing bleeding and strain in his hamstring and has commenced his rehabilitation process.

"The results of MRI scan at Altunizade Acıbadem Hospital have revealed that Beşiktaş midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has bleeding and strain in his hamstring. His rehabilitation is being closely monitored by the Beşiktaş medical team," the club stated.

This setback marks a recurring issue for the Lagos-born player, who has encountered hamstring strains twice this season already, forcing him to miss four matches previously.

Ndidi has been a vital player for Besiktas throughout the current season, featuring in 26 matches across all competitions. He has made 22 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig, contributing two goals and one assist.
