Wang Yi highlighted that over a span of 70 years, the Sino-African relationship has withstood the dynamic shifts in international affairs, demonstrating remarkable resilience.

For 36 consecutive years, it has been the tradition for China’s foreign minister to begin the year with a visit to Africa, a diplomatic practice that has endured through various circumstances.

“This steadfastness exemplifies the spirit and dedication inherent in China’s diplomatic efforts,” he asserted.

Wang Yi also recalled the positive memories associated with Premier Zhou Enlai’s visit to Africa during his trip to Ethiopia earlier this year, where the people fondly reminisced about those impactful moments.
