Novak Djokovic, the renowned tennis veteran, has shared his aspiration to clinch one more Grand Slam trophy prior to his retirement from the sport.
The Serbian star is presently tied with Margaret Court, holding 24 Grand Slam titles, and is striving for a historic 25th major victory.
In a recent discussion with Vanity Fair, Djokovic revealed that he still feels he has unfinished business at the highest levels of the game.
"Of course, I’d like to win at least another Grand Slam title, maintain my health, and keep competing for several more years," he commented.
He added, "However, there are numerous other pursuits I wish to engage in, to witness the evolutions occurring in tennis. I eagerly anticipate what lies ahead, hoping to be a part of it as an active player."
Djokovic also highlighted the importance of balancing his professional career with family obligations and future endeavors.
"I have countless aspirations and hopes, particularly as a father. I aim to support my children's ambitions since my extensive travel means that I am often away from them and my wife.
"Additionally, there are numerous professional initiatives I am excited to present to the world. I am particularly interested in areas like wellness, longevity, and both physical and mental health. I believe there is more I can contribute in these fields."
Reflecting on his challenges, Djokovic admitted that he tends to replay moments from his defeats in his mind.
"After losing a match, I reflect on everything — pondering what I could have improved. I often wish I had made different choices. This is also true in my personal life.
"We all experience instances where we feel we could have performed better. I can’t deceive myself by claiming to be without regrets, though I strive not to dwell on them too heavily."
Djokovic has consistently reached at least the semi-finals in each of the last five Grand Slam men's singles events, continuing to showcase his prowess as he pursues a historic 25th title.
