A farmer named Timothy Ayock has been ordered to be detained at a correctional facility in Kafanchan by the Kaduna State High Court, following allegations of rape. Ayock is facing two charges related to rape and criminal force, as outlined in sections 257 and 237 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017.
Daniel Isah, a state counsel from the Ministry of Justice, informed the court that the accused allegedly committed the offense of rape against a 70-year-old widow. The incident reportedly occurred on December 26, 2025, in Tagama community, located within the Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Upon the charges being read to him, the defendant entered a plea of not guilty.
The prosecutor requested a postponement of the proceedings to allow the state sufficient time to present its case against the accused.
In his ruling, Justice Michael Eugene ordered that the defendant be held at the Kafanchan correctional centre.
The court has scheduled the next hearing for March 5 to continue the examination of the case.
