Several invited players reported to the camp on Monday, April 6th, with training sessions kicking off the following day. The team's activities are centered around building physical conditioning, enhancing team chemistry, and instilling tactical discipline in readiness for their upcoming challenge.
The technical staff are anticipating the arrival of the remaining players who have been called up to the squad. During the initial training session, Head Coach Moses Aduku addressed the players. He urged them to maintain focus, demonstrate commitment, and be fully prepared for the responsibilities ahead, highlighting the importance of unity and determination against their opponents.
The players have voiced their optimism and readiness, expressing confidence in their ability to perform well as preparations continue. The coaching team is working diligently to ensure the squad reaches its peak performance level before the crucial qualifying matches.
It is noted that the Falconets' next opponents, the Malawi team, secured their spot in this final qualifying round by overcoming Guinea Bissau in their preceding fixture. The first leg of the tie between Nigeria and Malawi is scheduled to take place in Nigeria on Saturday, May 2nd, with the return leg to be played in Malawi one week later.
Africa is allocated four spots in the 2026 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, which is set to be hosted in Poland from September 5th to September 26th.
