Governor Dauda Lawal has conducted a solidarity visit to Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, the former governor of Zamfara and current senator, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement from Yari's media aide, Al-Mansoor Gusau, the two leaders shared a meal to break their Ramadan fast after the Maghrib prayer.
Additionally, the governor took the opportunity to visit Yari’s mother, Hajiya Maimuna Abubakar Yari, affectionately known as 'Umma', to receive her blessings.
Meanwhile, numerous loyal followers of Governor Lawal are reported to have begun enrolling with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in their local wards.
Among those who have signed up are deputy governor Mani Mummuni, Secretary to the State Government Abubakar Nakwada, and Chief of Staff Mukhtar Lugga.
Yahaya Abubakar Yari, who chairs the Talata Mafara Local Government and serves as the ALGON public relations officer, has stated that council chairmen throughout the state are fully backing the governor’s latest political endeavors.
'We have all aligned with Governor Lawal's membership in the APC and are committed to mobilizing support at the grassroots level,' he expressed.
Political figures within the APC have also expressed their support for the governor's return to the party.
