Katsina State's Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has been unanimously endorsed by stakeholders from the Daura Zone for a second term in office. This endorsement stems from the tangible achievements of his administration, which operates under the Building Your Future Strategic development agenda.
The diverse group of stakeholders from the Daura Zone highlighted the governor's administration as people-centered, inclusive, and focused on developmental initiatives, affirming their commitment to supporting his re- election.
The announcement took place during a stakeholders’ meeting on Tuesday at the Daura Local Government Secretariat. This event gathered political figures, traditional rulers, party representatives, and community leaders from across the emirate.
While addressing those present, Hon Nasir Yahaya Daura, the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, stated that the endorsement followed extensive consultations and evaluations of Governor Radda’s performance in office.
"The people of Daura have solid grounds to endorse Governor Radda for a second term. His governance style is fair and all-encompassing, with a clear focus on the people's welfare. The developmental strides observed throughout the emirate are a testament to this," the Speaker remarked. He pointed out significant projects including the ongoing Western Bypass Road, the refurbishment of primary and secondary schools, and the recent contract awarded for constructing a new General Hospital after upgrading the existing facility to a Federal Medical Centre.
Additionally, Adnan Na Habu, the Commissioner for Higher, Technical and Vocational Education, commended the administration's commitment to inclusive development in education. He noted that the government has employed over 7,000 teachers and facilitated the construction of model smart schools while also sponsoring disadvantaged students for studies abroad.
Ahmed Usman El-Marzuk, the Chairman of the Daura Zone Stakeholders Forum and former National Legal Adviser of the APC, disclosed that the gathering was convened to formally express the community's collective endorsement of Governor Radda for the upcoming 2027 elections.
"The people of Daura stand united in their support for Governor Radda. He possesses the necessary skills, competence, and vigor to lead Katsina State towards further advancements," El-Marzuk stated.
In agreement, Sani Aliyu Daura, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasized that the governor’s accomplishments across various sectors influenced the public's decision to declare their backing openly.
"Governor Radda's performance has unified the populace of Daura behind him, and this endorsement reflects our belief in his ability to uphold the pace of development," he added.
Prominent female politicians, including Amburu Sani Wali and Mrs. Safiya Dauda Daura, praised the governor for his efforts in empowering women and promoting their participation in governance while implementing skill acquisition programs statewide.
The meeting also featured Kabir Salisu Royal, the Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda in Daura Zone, who acknowledged the governor’s equitable distribution of projects across all regions of Katsina State.
During the session, Mohammed Ibrahim Dahiru, a former Registrar of Dr. Yusuf Bala Usman College of Legal and General Studies, proposed the motion to endorse Governor Radda for a second term, which was seconded by the Tafidan Daura, Sa’idu Abdulrahman. The motion received unanimous approval from the participants through a voice vote.
