Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced that political unity is on the rise in Kano State, expressing optimism that the ongoing conflict regarding the Kano Emirate will soon reach a peaceful conclusion.

He reassured residents that initiatives are in place to achieve a resolution that is acceptable to all stakeholders.

The governor made these remarks at the second special prayer gathering and Qur’anic recitation held at the Government House in Kano, which brought together 4,444 participants to pray for the state's unity, peace, and prosperity.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf indicated that the collective prayers directed towards the Almighty are yielding favorable results, highlighting the apparent increase in cooperation among political figures in the state.

He pointed out the recent participation of the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, at state events as an indication of the growing political cohesion in Kano.

The governor displayed confidence that the earnest prayers requested during the event would facilitate a peaceful solution to the Emirate conflict.

He committed to his utmost to foster unity among the political class in the state, urging all parties to steer clear of adversarial politics and to cultivate respect and understanding to promote the comprehensive development of Kano.

Additionally, he reiterated his administration's pledge to combat political violence, lamenting that young people engaging in violent activities are natives who should instead contribute positively to the state's advancement.

He assured residents that his government would persist in executing projects that directly enhance their lives and commended the Qur’anic reciters for dedicating their time to seek peace and stability in Kano.

During the event, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin commended the governor’s initiative in organizing the prayer for unity, encouraging other states to adopt Kano's approach to fostering peace and solidarity.

Earlier, the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, urged citizens to remain dedicated to prayer for the continuous growth of both Kano State and the nation as a whole.
