Armed assailants have kidnapped the wife and son of Alhaji Abass, a notable businessman popularly referred to as Daniyan Saba, in the Ndeji community of Lafiagi Emirate, located in the Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The incident transpired in the early hours of Saturday, March 7, 2026, when the gunmen invaded the community and forcibly took the two victims to an undisclosed location.
Alhaji Abass, who operates a petrol station, was previously kidnapped along with his manager in the same locality last year. They were later released after a ransom was reportedly paid.
This recent kidnapping has raised significant concerns among local residents, as the area has been witnessing an alarming rise in kidnapping cases and violent acts affecting several communities within the Lafiagi Emirate and other regions of the Kwara North Senatorial District.
In light of the situation, community members are urging the government and law enforcement agencies to step up their efforts in enhancing security measures to ensure the safe return of those abducted.
Residents have also called for swift action from authorities to tackle the escalating insecurity that threatens the safety of lives within the senatorial district.
