A recent viral video captured a moment of tension between former U.S. President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, as they attempted to navigate a busy intersection in New York City.
The couple was out in the city following an event and a visit to their daughter, Chelsea, when this incident unfolded.
In the footage, Bill Clinton is seen smiling as he seems to nudge his wife towards the crosswalk while traffic was still flowing, possibly encouraging her to cross the street sooner than was safe.
Hillary quickly reacted by retracting and raising her hands defensively, clearly opposing his action.
"No, no, no, no, no. Don’t do that. Don’t do that," she said in the recording.
Bill responded with a smile, saying, "That’s not a good idea."
Shortly after the incident, the crosswalk signal changed, allowing the couple, along with what appeared to be members of their security team, to cross safely without further complications.
This public sighting occurred just a few days after both Clintons provided testimony regarding an investigation into the government’s connection with the actions of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
They appeared under subpoena before the House Oversight Committee as part of an inquiry into how Epstein formed associations with high-profile individuals.
Bill Clinton has acknowledged past interactions with Epstein and has admitted to taking trips with him; however, neither Clintons have been accused of any wrongdoing regarding Epstein's illegal actions.
Investigators continue to look into how Epstein was able to establish ties with influential persons to hide his criminal activities.
