Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), has declared that he will refrain from participating in photos with unfamiliar individuals.

This announcement follows the emergence of a photo showing him alongside a suspected fraudster in a popular documentary that highlighted fraudsters who allegedly duped a Romanian woman of $2.5 million.

The image depicted the fraudster posing with the IGP while he was in uniform. Analysts have suggested that fraudsters often seek to capture images with prominent figures to lend legitimacy to their illicit activities. The documentary also showcased pictures of these suspects with various high- profile Nigerians, including business leaders and entertainers.

At a recent public event, the IGP remarked that he will no longer accept photo requests from the public, emphasizing that his choice should not be interpreted as arrogance.

He stated, "I want to express my apologies to those distinguished individuals whose requests I have had to turn down. My decision is rooted in caution rather than pride, particularly in circumstances where photographs taken at significant events could be misused."
