The 2026 World Corporate Golf Challenge National Finals will take place at Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos from May 29 to 31. Globus Bank has joined as a new partner in this event, with the organizers, Falcon Golf Development Company (FGDC), aiming to elevate the tournament into a premier networking affair for Nigeria's business community.
Remi Olukoya, the Chief Executive Officer of FGDC, noted that the upcoming edition will introduce innovative features, offering enhanced networking opportunities on the greens for both sponsors and players. There is already significant interest in the tournament across the country.
A notable addition this year is the selection of a second team purely based on gross scores, with the top grossing team representing Nigeria as Team 2 at the world finals in Beijing, China. The selection for Team 1 will employ the Stableford scoring method, utilizing three-quarters of the official handicap, with the best score on each hole among partners determining their qualification. A new VIP Guest Category has also been introduced for those seeking a unique experience instead of competitive play.
"We have made significant enhancements for the 2026 World Corporate Golf Challenge. Aside from the traditional winner-takes-all approach, gross players will now have the opportunity to understand what it feels like to compete at the World Finals," Olukoya remarked.
Funds raised from the VIP section will support the Falcon Golf Academy, which nurtures young golfers aiming to become Nigeria’s next professional stars.
The World Corporate Golf Challenge brings together business leaders through the sport of golf across more than 35 countries globally. Its return to Ikoyi Club underscores the venue's longstanding tradition of hosting premier amateur and corporate contests.
