Israel has carried out an unprovoked missile strike against Iran, coinciding with ongoing nuclear negotiations involving both Iran and the United States.

On Saturday morning, Israel’s Defense Minister confirmed that the country executed missile attacks targeting Iran.

According to reports from Al Jazeera, the missiles hit University Street and the Jomhouri area of Tehran, the Iranian capital, in the early hours of Saturday.

The attack was reported a day after indirect discussions were held between Iran and the US concerning Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Oman’s Foreign Minister, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, who facilitated the talks in Geneva, expressed his confidence that all issues in the negotiations could be addressed.

Al Busaidi mentioned that he believed a resolution could be achieved amicably and comprehensively within the next few months. However, Israel, pressing the US for military action against Iran, chose to preemptively launch its strikes on Saturday.

As of now, the US has not engaged in military action, even though President Donald Trump had previously voiced his concerns over the slow progress of the nuclear negotiations with Iran.

This incident marks Israel’s second attack on Iran in less than a year, which previously escalated tensions into an extensive conflict.

Last year’s initial assault in June resulted in a 12-day war between the two nations, which caused casualties and significant damage on both sides.

In light of escalating tensions, several countries, including the US, UK, and China, have advised their citizens to leave Iran and Israel.

This is a developing situation, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
