The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has taken decisive action by removing 23 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres from its accredited list, citing technical deficiencies that arose during the recent 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement released by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the board also announced a complete ban on Ha-shem Academy, located in Yaba, Lagos, prohibiting it from participating in any future examinations conducted by JAMB.
Furthermore, the board issued stern warnings to numerous other centres that experienced minor technical problems. These centres have been put on notice to rectify their issues.
JAMB indicated that this punitive action stemmed from a thorough internal assessment of the mock examination. This assessment is crucial for evaluating both candidate readiness and the operational and technical capabilities of the CBT centres, and it serves as a vital opportunity to identify those centres that do not meet the established operational and technical benchmarks.
The board highlighted that its review uncovered a pattern of centres failing to meet the required standards, necessitating immediate intervention.
JAMB emphasized its unwavering commitment to upholding the integrity of its examination processes. It stated that these measures are in place to ensure that only centres that are fully prepared and adhere to standards will be permitted to conduct the main UTME.
