Governor Umar Namadi has pledged that the Jigawa State Government will ensure that the case concerning the alleged abduction of Walida Abdulhadi is pursued to its final and lawful conclusion, guaranteeing that justice prevails.
This assurance was given by the governor on Wednesday during a meeting with Walida’s parents and their legal representative at the Government House in Dutse.
During the meeting, the governor updated the family about Walida’s current condition, reasserting the government's commitment to her complete rehabilitation, ongoing education, and overall well-being.
He stated that Walida is currently receiving care at a medical facility funded by the Jigawa State Government, and that once her rehabilitation is concluded, she will be united with her family.
Furthermore, the governor revealed that trained social workers have been assigned to provide professional care and psychosocial support for both Walida and her child. He emphasized that all support mechanisms are in place to ensure her health and full recovery.
In addition, Governor Namadi announced plans for the state government to re- enroll Walida in school and to finance her educational pursuits, allowing her to continue her studies without obstacles.
Describing the situation as a case of kidnapping, he vowed that the state government would work to ensure that justice is served through appropriate legal channels, and all individuals found responsible will face consequences.
The governor also mentioned that the government plans to assist Walida and her family through targeted economic empowerment initiatives aimed at improving their living conditions and helping them rebuild their lives.
He reiterated the Jigawa State Government's unwavering dedication to defending the rights and dignity of all its citizens, wherever they may reside.
Walida’s parents expressed their gratitude to Governor Namadi for his prompt intervention in securing their daughter's safety and for the state's robust plans for her rehabilitation and reintegration.
