He reported, "The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. while the secretary was resting in his residence."

According to Usman, the attackers first alerted the secretary's son, who was sleeping in the outer compound, compelling him to knock on his father’s door under the pretense of suffering from a stomach ache.

"When he knocked, his father inquired who it was, and he replied that it was his son. The father then asked what the issue was, and the son mentioned a stomach ache. Afterward, the father opened the door, and the assailants immediately captured both him and his son," he explained.

He further stated that the attackers eventually let the son go but took the secretary with them before security forces could reach the location.

The Kibiya Local Government Area is generally viewed as a peaceful region; however, neighboring areas such as Tsanyawa and Shanono, which are close to Katsina State, have experienced multiple incidents of banditry.
