Two of the recovered vehicles were originally stolen from Abuja and Jigawa State.

He mentioned that the anti-car theft unit had achieved significant successes over the past week.
On March 7, officers intercepted a dark blue Hyundai Elantra at the Naibawa Flyover Bridge in Kano. The occupants were identified as Ibrahim Muhd, 29, from Minna, and Ahmed Sani, 32, from Abuja. This vehicle had been reported stolen from Abuja, and both suspects have confessed to their involvement in the theft.
Additionally, on March 9, the unit apprehended 30-year-old Abdulkarim Mamman from Kaduna at the Kwanar Dawaki checkpoint on the Kano-Zaria Expressway. He was discovered to be in possession of an ash-colored Honda Civic, which he admitted to having stolen from Karkasara Quarters in Kano.
Another individual, 28-year-old Yusuf Ali from Kaduna State, was arrested in connection with a silver Toyota Corolla stolen from Dutse, Jigawa State. A white Nissan Sunny was also recovered after being stolen from a parking lot in the Kano metropolis.
These suspects are currently undergoing investigation. Kiyawa confirmed that once the investigation is complete, they will face formal charges in court.
The Kano State Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring public safety and commended the strategic initiatives by the Inspector General of Police that led to these arrests. They also expressed gratitude to the public for their ongoing cooperation, urging citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
